Summary

William Henry Comper, born in St. Pancras, London, England, was a teacher before the outbreak of World War I.

He was the son of William Dossetter Comper and Emma Comper and hailed from Tweed Heads, New South Wales.

On June 5, 1916, he embarked as a Sergeant with the 57th Battalion, 42nd Infantry Battalion, aboard the HMAT Borda from Sydney.

He was killed in Belgium during the Third Battle of Ypres—Salient in 1917, at the age of 28.
